This germ rice is cultivated by Mr. Chiu, a farmer from Chishang, Taitung, who was the winner of the first national rice quality competition in Taiwan. The rice grains are dehulled and turned into brown rice, which is then milled by a machine to retain the germ on the rice grains, which is called germ rice.
