White asparagus is developed through careful cultivation, grown under the cover of soil or dark plastic, the lack of sunlight preventing photosynthesis and the production of chlorophyll, the result is white in colour as no pigment or colour is produced. White Asparagus has a succulent texture and a mildly sweet, nutty, earthy flavour with a hint of bitterness, is suitable for steaming, roasting, baking and sauteing.
